The short fiction film A Sweet Day (Yek Rooz-e Shirin), directed by Omid Abdollahi, will have its World Premiere at the Pardi di Domani – International Competition of the 79th Locarno Film Festival in Switzerland.
The 79th Locarno Film Festival will take place from August 5 to 15, 2026, bringing together filmmakers and audiences from around the world. A Sweet Day will be presented in the International Competition of Pardi di Domani, the festival’s section dedicated to short and medium-length films by independent filmmakers and emerging filmmakers, and will be screened at La Sala in Locarno on August 13.
The film will mark its first international presentation in competition at one of Europe’s major film festivals, introducing A Sweet Day to an international audience and the professional film community.
